London Fashion Week S/S 10
Those who have been reading my blog for a while may have remembered me venting about how annoyed I was that many of our top designers and labels show in New York/Milan/Paris meaning that London is often overlooked when it comes to fashion week. So I was embarrassingly excited when heard that to celebrate London Fashion Week's 25th birthday, designers and brands such as Matthew Williamson and Burberry were to return to London.
You can certainly see the improvement as it seems that everybody else upped their game and a lot of collections were very much on point.
I was fortunate enough to attend the Vauxhall Fashion Scout Show for Romeo Pires whose collection featured large digital skeleton prints and I was also VERY fortunate enough to meet Matthew Williamson Tolula Adeyemi and Mario Testino at the Burberry aftershow party!* It was the best experience ever.
*I also wanted to add that the non celebrity guests at the party had THE Burberry look down to a tee, and over the past couple of weeks I've been thinking a lot about signature looks, but I'll touch on that in another post.
Now back to LFW, here are my favourite looks:
Antonia Berardi
Basso & Brooke
Burberry Prorsum
Fashion East: Eugenia Mandzhieva
Fashion Fringe:
Jenna Theo
Lidija edejani
Yelana Smirnova
Julien MacDonald
Matthew Williamson
Nathan Jenden
Twenty8Twelve
Viviene Westwood Red Label
I also just wanted to ask if anyone noticed how PPQ used only black and asian models? I didn't even realise until someone mentioned it to me-which is a good thing, as it means that a diverse runway doesn't downgrade your collection or take anything from it in any way.
