Seeing this picture of Hanneli Mustaparta in her Ralph Lauren cable knit reminded me that I need to invest in some knitwear (I'm supposed to be on a shopping diet so erm... yeah). Every year I set out to purchase a good cable knit jumper and I usually end up with a poor, itchy version that looks completely different after the first wash, but as the 'Ladylike' trend (as seen on Hanneli above) is in full swing this Autumn/Winter, it shouldn't be too hard for me to find the almost perfect cable knit jumper soon-I might even pick up the Topshop one below.

Karin Camel

Whilst looking at Chloe’s Autumn/Winter 2010/11 collection, I kept on thinking it reminded me of something… the Citroen Karin.

Citroen Karin was a concept car designed by Trevor Fiore in 1980. I came across images of it a while ago whilst ‘dossing’ about on the net. I don’t know why I like the car and its humorous pyramid shape but I do. Maybe it has got something to do with the interior.

I can totally picture an Autumn/Winter Chloe girl stepping out this (providing it was a fully functioning car).

Are you ready for camel this season? I think I am-in moderation that is. I don’t think I could do it head-to-toe, I’m already brown.

Trends: Bum Bags

For me, the bum bag (or Fanny Pack) was never out. Believe it or not, there was a time in my life (late secondary school and my first year of college) when I hated carrying bags and as carrying my phone, keys and lip gloss in the tiny pockets of my jeans made me looks as though I were packing something, bum bags were sometimes an alternative. I have been fortunate enough to stumble across bum bags that were rock-able, but I've been waiting for designers to catch up up and redesign it.

Marc Jacobs was brave enough to do so for the Louis Vuitton s/s 2010 collection, and whilst some most of you will be recoiling in horror, I'm all for it.

Bum bags reminds me of the 90s the only decade (excluding the noughties) that I can remember. I know I was born in the late eighties, but my baby brain was mush hence why whilst the rest of the world are still this 80s nostalgia flex, I am all for a 90s revival. The bumbag may conjur up images of Mr Motivator, American tourists, and open the floodgates of emotional fashion distress (trouser skirts, pedal pushers, block heels Timmy Mallet and ...ok let me stop) it makes me feel nostalgic.

My Take On: Grunge

With this whole 90's revival that surfacing, I decided to do my own take on it. However, as there were many different genres in the nineties, I decided that my first stop was going to be 'Grunge'.

Spats

It seems like Spats have been slowly making their way onto scene for a couple of seasons now, Rihanna even rocked a pair last year at the Grammy's and on a recent shopping spree I've noticed that more updated/subtle versions have creeped onto the high-street.
Spats are definately me this spring. I really need to get adventurous with my footwear because lately it's been high heeled brogues and oxford shoes.

"Fashion Week Is Coming, Fa-shion week is coming..."

You know when it's nearly Christmas time and THE Coca Cola advert comes on t.v. -you know, the one that goes "Holidays are coming, Holidays are coming" or whatever it is? Well ever since I clocked that Fashion week was about to start I've had the jingle stuck in my head (but instead of 'Holidays' it's 'Fashion Week') It's been driving me mad!

Anyways, New York Fashion week started on Friday and it's been okay-I just can't wait for the big guns to show us what they've got for Spring/Summer 09. Rachel Roy really dissappointed me with her collection. I mean, each look was nice individually but it didn't look like a collection. So far Rag & Bone and BCBG have delivered, and I can not wait to see what else New York has in store for us.

Leather Trousers

If I had been told two years ago that in 2008 I'd be considering wearing leather trousers or leather-esque leggings, I would have found it hard to believe. But here I am sitting behind my laptop, contemplating whilst I type if whether or not I should purchase a pair of faux-leather leggings. I had a pair of leather trousers for bloody ages but I thought I'd never want to wear them and I gave them away to charity earlier this year. So now some lucky cow's probably running around with my trousers that they bought for £3

The trend's been brewing for a while now. Those models where fans of this look not too long ago, and now it's filtered (or should I say spilled)onto the high street, all you have to do is take a trip to Oxford Street and you'll find them in every other window.

I really do want to buy a pair, but I'm 5'2.5" (yes the .5 counts) and I've got a lil thickness in the thighs so I'm a bit worried about how they'd look, but Keyshia Cole (above) appears to be making them work so I'm sure I'd be able to handle them. I just hope that if I do buy them they wont end up on the pile of stuff I've bought but have never worn.

Cropped Tops

when I noticed that on several sites, style bloggers were working the crop top look I thought I may be imagining it-I never thought this look would be one people would want to try again. However, Selina from Flying Saucer also pointed out that crop tops may be a new blogger trend, and she may just very well be right as recently bloggers {l-r}Gala, Rumi, Selina and Tina Turnover have been rocking the cropped look...

In Search of Cigarette Pants

I've been fiending for a pair of Cigarette pants for nearly 3 years now, and I still haven't found a pair. Well.. I did, a black shiny pair in H&M but they were slightly too fitting which made me look as though I were busting out of them.

The first time I clapped eyes on a pair was when I saw a picture of them being worn by Audrey Hepburn. Years later, and my desire to own a pair has been refuelled after seeing those skinny models rocking black and hot pink versions of them on the runway during the Jill Sander Spring '08 show. Seriously, if I don't find a pair anytime soon, I will be cutting up a pair and ironing creases down the front... in fact, what's stopping me? I should go right ahead and do that now!

Hmmm, I felt the need to post today even though I have nothing to say so I'm gonna ramble about random things...


Gladiator Sandals




I'm starting to think that I must be the only one that doesn't like gladiator sandals. Don't get me wrong, they look good on some people but I personally feel that they should be left to General Maximus Decimus Meridius. The other week, me and some friends decided to do a spot of shopping, and as soon as we saw the sandals, my girls went ape shit over them. They kept on asking me if I liked "this one" or if I liked "that one" and I just about managed to force a smile and say "It looks alright".

Ladies, If you can pull em off, then by all means wear them. But if you're wearing them just because 'Look' magazine says they're hot this summer (which I don't get cos they've been around for quite a while now) then please reconsider buying them.
