Biker Jacket addict

Whilst other's deemed the Burberry S/S 2011 collection as "too young" I looked at it and couldn't help but think of just how 'me' it was.

You see, I have a thing for biker jackets and I'm putting it down to the fact that my grandfather was a biker as I can't find any other reason for my leather obsession.
I'm only showing you four of the jackets, but I do in fact have more as when ever I see a nice one I convince myself that I just have to buy it.

My latest purchase is the blush coloured perforated leather and suede jacket. I am in love with it, however, I haven't worn it yet as I am trying to get the most out of my wax jacket for a while seeing as it's relatively new.

Ladylike

{imagesource}

Seeing this picture of Hanneli Mustaparta in her Ralph Lauren cable knit reminded me that I need to invest in some knitwear (I'm supposed to be on a shopping diet so erm... yeah). Every year I set out to purchase a good cable knit jumper and I usually end up with a poor, itchy version that looks completely different after the first wash, but as the 'Ladylike' trend (as seen on Hanneli above) is in full swing this Autumn/Winter, it shouldn't be too hard for me to find the almost perfect cable knit jumper soon-I might even pick up the Topshop one below.

Reinvent Yourself

Going though a feature in UK Vice Student Guide, I came across ‘Reinvent Yourself’ which brought back on of my first experiences at University. When I first started uni, I was overwhelmed by the bold, beautiful and downright bizarre character’s I found myself surrounded by. I assumed they were born stylish (or weird) so it was a surprise to discover that a lot of them were geeks/nerds/social outcasts/ugly ducklings in (what I’d like to call) their previous life.

SCARLETT

NELL

LARRY

I wouldn’t say I reinvented myself at uni, my style merely developed into what it is today. I believe I dress pretty normal but I won’t lie, I did consider reinventing my style a couple of times. However, whilst I believe that you should put some effort into how you look, it should also come naturally to you (attention seekers take note i.e. Lady Gaga)which is probably why I love the above re-invention looks as they still hold a bit of their old personalities.

Star Style Gazing:Frankie, Cheryl, Rihanna, Vanessa, Beyonce

If you haven't guessed it yet, my lack of blog post is due to the fact that I have tonnes of work to do. However, I'm on strike tonight, so I thought I'd give you -my readers a little something.

I was absolutely loving Frankie from The Saturdays, Cheryl Cole and Rihanna's sportswear inspired look-I'm mad about the trend in case you haven't noticed. All three of them have taken very casual pieces and taken it to a whole 'nother level. Jameela Jamil's fearlessness of baring her long legs in a mini dress was a look I really liked on her as well as Vanessa Williams "PETA where you at?" look(I'm assuming she's on set-Wilhelmina's my chick). And I've thrown in a picture of Beyonce in the morning - not because I'm weird, but because I'm annoyed that she looks that good in the morning I don't even look that good with make up on in the morning... even though there's no doubt she adjusted herself before she came outside- There's no way she was going to be seen in a headscarf and sleep creases on her face.

How to Sit Like a Guy and Still Look Hot

Everyone has a moment when they warm to a particular celebrity, and sometimes it's a moment that you remember for a long time.
I had this moment sometime in November when I came across this picture of Victoria Beckham at a Lakers game...

It took a while for me to figure out what it was about her that had made me go from not caring for her one little bit to absolutely loving her. It was the way she sat. This wasn't normal wooden Victoria Beckham I was looking at. This VB had... erm.. sw*g (I sensor the word because I feel it is extremely overused, but it's the only word that I could think of).

Seeing her sat like a bloke in a pair of one of the hottest heels I've seen in a while and a casual tank top showed me a whole new likeable Victoria.

(I would suggest only only trying this with a pair of heels on to achieve the desired effect.)

2010

Happy New Year readers! As it's a new year, I thought I'd change the blog layout a bit. It's not a huge change-but it's a change nontheless and I hope you like it. I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, and an equally lovely new year.

I don't normally make new year's resolution's. Infact, the last time I made one was probably a good 4/5 years ago and I can't remember what it was, but I do know I broke it a few hours after making it.

I can't commit to resolutions and for that reason, I don't make them. I also don't make resolutions purely because every year, towards the end of December I have to listen to people bang on about how "...[insert year here] is gonna be my year" and they never follow through. I hate failure.

This year, I've decided to make style resolutions. I've figured that seeing as it's a fun thing, I'm more than likely to stick to it. So here it goes (and I'll probably mentally be adding more to it on a weekly basis):

- Have fun more when it comes to clothes. Wear clothes now that I won't be able to get away with as a respectable 60 year old. [This is gonna be hard for me seeing as I'm fairly introverted]

- Try out different hairstyles on a regular basis.

- Make sure my nails are always done [easier said than done-I'm as lazy as they come]

- wear more skirts and shorts regardless of the weather. I'm a UK size 10/12 but I have a complex about my thighs that I need to get over. There are greater things going on in the world, so anyone concerned about the way my thighs wobble needs to get their priorities in order.

- WEAR MORE HEELS. I'm 5'3".

- Customize more.

- Add more colour to my wardrobe.

- Take more pictures

My style inspiration(s)? These ladies:

Well If It Worked For Rihanna...

Cassie's gone from this...

To this...

I don't even know how I feel about this. I admire girls who have the confidence to pull of a buzz 1, but I can't help but feel that Cassie's new do's contrived. I mean she has got a new album (or something) coming out soon, and the new image/good girl gone bad thing worked for Rihanna, so maybe it will work for her.

But if it doesn't, then it's a waste of a good healthy (1/3) head of hair.

And remember when I did that post about shaving it off? and I said how I was sure that there wouldn't be a lot of girls running around with this look? Well I take it back. The amount of chicks I have seen sporting this look is rediculous.

Gym Slip Chic

Is what I'm calling it right now. Apart from body con, I've been obsessed with luxe sport, so much so that the projects I have done so far in my second year have been sports inspired, and I decided that when I graduate I want to go into luxury sportswear (my tutors think I'm weird. I don't care).

I would say this was one of the favourite looks from Stella McCartney's S/S 2009 collection and it's one of mine as well purely because it is so easy and cheap to recreate. And depending on how you can accessorize, it could so easily be personalized.

Beanies

Beanies. The ONLY thing I like about the big freeze. It means I can wear my beloved slouch hats and not have to bother straightening my roots. But the slouch hats are boring me know, it's time I move onto oversized beanies, and the ladies one just don't cut it, so it's time to venture into the menswear section, again.

Seeing as they're under £10, I'll be buying them in every colour as soon as the student loan drops.

Frockin' Happy

Please excuse the title. For the past 2 weeks I've been working backstage for a new T4 show "Frock Me" which is a fashion and music magazine show presented by Alexa Chung, designer Henry Holland and Gemma Cairney. Part of the show features wannabe styists also known as "Frockers" from different cities around the UK pulling together an outfit based on a theme. They then have a "Frock off" at the end of the show and the winner wins £1000. With all this frockin' frock off frockers I keep finding myself trying to create words and phrases using "frock".

Anywhoo, that's pretty much what I wore on my first day last week.I really should have taken a picture of what I wore instead. Now I'm off to go and sort my self out for uni next week. I'll try and post later.

I did it. And I said I was going to do it. I always imagine styling music video's, and I sooo wish I could have styled this one. Here's what it would look like if they had let me loose on set. It's nothing special but...

N*E*R*D - Everybody Nose... preview

I know this might not have anything to do with fashion-but I'm going to make it about fashion. I stumbled across the preview of N*E*R*D's video for their new single 'Everybody Nose' and now I can't wait to see the full length video. I'm really feeling the style of AND styling in the video and it's just asking for me to polyvore it.
