"Videophone" Remix Stills

Unlike the rest of the world, I really despise Lady Gaga which why I don't think she's ever graced my blog. Now the only reason why she's on it today is because of her new video with Beyonce for the "Videophone" remix, and judging by the stills, it looks promising...

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

If any good will come from this collaboration, it will be a much better styled Beyonce, because let's face it, as much as I love her, she needs a lot of help in that department* (Yeah I said it!).

*Notice how I am yet to comment on what she wore on stage for her 'Sweet Dreams' performance at the EMA's?

I just hope this video lives up to the hype.

I told you guys I'd post pics of the I Am... tour, so here they are...

I love that last picture where I've captured them mid-air.I definately want to go again.
The quality is really bad but that's down to me being rubbish at taking photographs and the rubbish camera I have. She also brought out George Michael for 'If I Were a Boy' as you can see which was great as it means I got to see two artists for the price of one.
I was seriously considering not posting the pictures because in all honesty pictures do it no justice-but I said I would so there you go.

Also, I'm not sure if I posted this so I'm going to post this again. If it's a re-post I apologise but Big Brother 10 is on so I'm not searching for it-I want to see if Noirin's going to cuss out Sree (If there are any BB10 followers here let me know-re-assure me that I am not a loser for watching the show). Anyways, I made a crest/emblem/logo earlier this year and then a few months ago I printed it on to an oversized tank top. I got my mum to take pictures of me wearing it because it looks way better on a person than it does on a mannequin but all her pics were shakey (funny, seeing as my camera is supposed to have anti shake), So I took it on the mannequin to show you guys:
I'm sure I've posted this before`but meh!

Richgirl

I've come out uni-work hiatus to post this. The Saturday's need to watch their backs as I can sense that in a couple of singles time, Richgirl will be chasing The Saturdays off of my fave list; infact, I think they may have done so already (I'm a sucker for latex).

They are sooo channeling Madonna during her erotica phase but I love their urban* twist on it. Oh and I loves-yes loves the way Lyndriette swangs-yes swangs her ponytail at 3:23...

*I actually hate the word "urban" I just couldn't think of another word to use.

The Saturdays

WARNING: This post is very picture heavy

Everyone has their own secret guilty pleasures especially when it comes to music-be it genres or artists, and I have many.
My most recent one are The Saturdays-I love these girls, I even have them on my iPod On-The-Go playlist.

I've been discreetly eyeing up their style from even before they released their first single just to see how they would turn out, and I can see that they've now got some kind of signature look going on (as contrived as it may be). I always like to look at artists from the beginning of their career to where they are now just to see how far they (and their stylist) have come, and with The Saturdays they've brushed up pretty quickly considering they've only just begun.

They started out like this...
To this...

(My fave's Rochelle-but I think that's only becuse she's half Sierra Leonean)
They were recently featured in FHM magazine looking very hot in Bordelle bodywear.
Speaking of Bordelle, do you remember my post on Bordelle? Well I went down to their HQ the other day as I'm collaborating with them for my final Uni project and I actually got to see the clothes face to face. I won't say anymore about it for now because I've got to sign some confidentiality thing, but I am so freakin' excited.
Here's the behind the scenes video from the FHM shoot

I.Must.Cop

I haven't purchased an issue of i-D in ages, but I will be buying a copy of this. It looks so different from what they normally do that I assumed it was a fake, especially seeing as it has "D-i-Y" slapped on the front.

Seven Photographs That Changed Fashion {Part 8}

Rankin saved the best till last, and quite rightly so. The Essex accent has never sounded so good.
(OMD, I'm lusting on the day of Sabbath-Father forgive me).

Kim Kardashian X Complex

You see how I posted up those Kanye ed's for Complex magazine the other day? Well I forgot to tell you that it was going to be 2 cover spesh, the other cover star being Kim Kardashian. I don't really know why I'm posting up these images because ther pail in comparison to the Kanye cover.

Apparently, they were trying to go all environmental on us-but it could have been executed so much better. They're just lucky Kim K's a gorgeous girl.
And don't you think she looks like a cross between Beyonce and Alexandra Burke in this picture?

Seven Photographs That Changed Fashion

I was looking for something to watch online (I have Sky but can you believe that with over 1000 channels they have nothing decent for me to watch)and ended up doing some "research" on David Gandy. I came across this video of a BBC4 documentary about photographer Rankin recreating seven iconic photographs that changed fashion and thought I'd share part 1 & 2 with you...
{Part One}

{Part Two}

I'll bring you part 3-8 later.

It seem's like they're referencing M.C. Escher in that last picture which I love!

I've decided

Lately I've had to think about what I want to do with my future in design, and which direction I want to go in. I thought being a pattern cutter would mean that there will always be jobs as I was told by tutors and industry folk that many people have a degree in womenswear and the industry wants more pattern cutters. Well the current economic climate has slapped me in the face with reality, and I now know that pattern cutting jobs a few and far between. This means that when I (and countless others) graduate, there's a possibility that I could spend forever working near the bottom of the fashion food chain as a sales assistant.

Now, I'm way too deep in university debt to accept that the major that I'm a bout to major in don't make no money, and I won't drop out-my parents will look at me funny (Thanks Kanye). So what am I going to do? I'm just going to carry out my dreams. There's so many areas of the fashion industry that I'd like to work in, and knowing now that I have nothing to lose means that I'm not afraid of going for it.

Now apart from wanting to be a black Barbie when I grow up*
one of the things I've wanted to do is design costumes for tours. When I was younger if I really liked a song on the radio-before even seeing the video, I'd draw up what I thought the outfits should look like.

So I was excited to hear that Thierry Mugler is going to design Beyonce's 'I Am... Sasha Fierce' tour outfits. I remember seeing this...

Tierry Mugler's motorcycle corset and thinking how cool it was that the crazy lady was wearing a motorbike (at 4 years old, I didn't know it was Thierry Mugler). I then saw Ms. Fierce rocking it for her Sasha Fierce promo picture along with other Mugler creations,
so you can only imagine how thrilled I was to hear that Mugler is to design costumes for Beyonce's upcoming tour. Now, I've bought my tickets to see Beyonce when she comes to London, and best believe I will have both my cameras on zoom to get some shots.

*I'm not even playing about that one. I want the big hair, the black and pink ride, the dream house, my very own Ken/Steven (I don't discriminate), dope career[s], ridiculous body, and the kids-pshh, I dont believe for one minute that baby Krissy is really her sister, or Shelley for that matter.

Visual: Coco Avant Chanel

It's times like these that I wish I continued to study French, because even if they add subtitles I won't know what the heck is going on as I'll spend most of the film staring at the clothes.
